This course aims at initial skill development in reading, writing and numeracy to meet personal needs and to facilitate participation in the community, further education and training and preparation for employment.  In this course an individual will learn how to develop a learning plan and portfolio with support, read and create short, simple texts and develop their maths skills in simple, highly familiar situations.  This course provides learners who have low literacy and numeracy skills the opportunity to build confidence, re-engage with learning and a pathway into nationally accredited qualifications.
