This qualification provides a broad overview of the maritime and marine science industries. The Diploma of Marine Studies course is a knowledge and practical project based course covering broad themes of marine studies and seamanship skills. The course has been developed in consultation with industry and enables students to gain a broad based knowledge of the maritime industry. It is completed as a dual qualification with the Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal).

You will gain knowledge and skills in:

·         Operating a small vessel and seamanship

·         Applying coastal navigation and meteorology

·         Applying principles of marine biology and ecology to practical tasks

·         Working on projects within the coastal and marine environment

·         Developing fisheries management

·         Using technology in the field of Aquaculture

Further Study Option(s)
