Gain the skills to work in music technical/sound production as either an employee or by opening your own business or studio.

You will learn about current music industry practices in the areas of studio recording and maintenance, live sound, music technology, music production, music arrangement and repairing/maintaining equipment.

By studying music at North Metropolitan TAFE you will benefit from the best facilities and musical heritage in Western Australia. Since 1996 our music graduates have gone on to form bands such as Birds of Tokyo and work with bands such as Gyroscope, Karnivool and Eskimo Joe all under the guidance of our industry experienced lecturers.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • work as an employee or set up your own business/studio

  • develop current music industry practices

  • record in a studio

  • set up and mix live sound

  • understand music technology

  • produce music

  • arrange music, and

  • repair and maintain equipment.
