In this qualification you will learn basic food preparation and cookery skills, which will enable you to perform these skills under direct supervision.  This course is designed for those who are interested in cooking and starting a career in the hospitality industry.

This qualification does not reflect the skills required by commercial cooks (please see the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery).

Your qualification prepares you for roles such as:

Kitchen/cooks assistant, short order, fast food or canteen Cook, or gain an apprenticeship/traineeship to become a qualified cook.

You will need to be employed and registered as an apprentice/trainee before you can commence apprenticeship/traineeship training.
