When you complete this course you will be ready to enter a career working in the tourism and travel industry sectors.
You will have the skills and knowledge to work effectively with a diverse range of employers including tourist attractions, tour operators, tour guiding, companies, event operators, retail travel agencies, wineries, tour wholesalers, visitor information centres, natural, cultural and heritage sites, caravan park operations and a wide range of small tourism businesses.
This course includes practical activities and hands on experience with possible excursions to local tourism sites and working on projects alongside the local tourism industry.
Your qualification prepares you for roles such as:
Visitor information officer, assistant in an event management business or professional conference organiser, tour guide, customer service assistant for a tour wholesaler or travel agency, cellar door assistant in a winery, museum attendant, receptionist and office assistant in a travel agency, customer assistant in a tourist attraction, ride attendant in an attraction or any one of multiple 'all-rounder' positions in businesses dealing with tourists.
