Develop the practical skills and knowledge required to perform various specialised tasks when working as an Engineer Class 2 on vessels over 750kW propulsion power.
Students will gain the knowledge components of the Marine Engineering program in the areas of mechanics, thermodynamics, electro technology, maths and computing including CAD. You will also gain skills at the management level in marine safety, marine management, legislative compliance, naval architecture and vessel maintenance. You will learn about electrical, electronic and control engineering along with the operation and maintenance of marine engineering plant and equipment. You may elect to undertake steam systems training as an additional skill set.
