When you complete this course you will be ready for a career in the wool industry as a wool handler or an agriculture assistant.

You will have the skills and knowledge to handle wool and assisting in a shearing shed. You will learn skills in penning sheep, performing board duties, assisting with pressing wool and preparing sheep for shearing and crutching. You will also learn about first aid, effective communication, responding to emergencies and safety in the workplace.

This course is a component of the CSWE, English as an additional language (EAL) curriculum framework. It is a post-beginner course for learners who have had some formal or informal exposure to English and who already possess a foundational level of English language skills and numeracy.

It provides English language learning for EAL learners, primarily targeting newly arrived migrants and refugees who need English language skills to participate in a limited range of community, further training or employment contexts.

This course forms part of the Chemical, Hydrocarbons and Oil Refining Training Package (PMA16) and offers a number of specialist unit streams. It is typically used to prepare new employees or develop existing workers performing an operational role in the following chemical, hydrocarbons or refining sectors.
