Advanced Diploma of Process Plant Technology

National ID: PMA60116 | State ID: BAM9

The Advanced Diploma of Process Plant Technology PMA60116 is an advanced qualification for both school leavers and/or industry professionals looking to progress through to university studies and/or advance their career standing.

For industry professionals looking to advance their career, the Advanced Diploma of Process Plant Technology is a technical qualification for para-professionals who undertake technical projects such as plant modifications, energy and mass balances, risk management & safety cases either individually or as part of a project team where they have a significant technical role. They may have worked their way up through the process plant operation/technology certificate and diploma qualifications or may have entered the industry at this level, either from another industry or trade occupation.

Looking for a qualification that can progress you through to university studies? The Advanced Diploma of Process Plant Technology is accredited by Engineers Australia, the largest and most diverse professional body for engineers in the nation. It is eligible for advanced standing at Edith Cowan University (1.5 years) or Curtin University (1 year). In order to obtain the advanced standing, the completion of the Engineers Australia skillset is required. This is undertaken in the second semester of the course.

Gain these skills:

  • Determine energy & mass transfer loads
  • Plant shutdown
  • Equipment performance
  • Improvements to process capability
  • Processing and recording information
  • Safe work practices

The course is competency-based, which requires those undertaking the training to prove competence either by face to face learning or by completing practical assessments in the work place, as well as showing theoretical competence.

Your qualification prepares you for roles such as:
