The Diploma of Sport* has been designed with the career oriented, sports professional in mind and will provide you with a broad set of skills and knowledge to advance your career in the sport industry

North Metropolitan TAFE is excited to be offering this course as part of a new dual diploma qualification in 2023 to give you greater opportunities to advance your career and enhance your skill set. If you are a natural leader and love sport, this new program will give you skills in business, management and enhance your leadership and sport knowledge and experience.

On successful completion of the program you'll gain a Diploma of Sport and a Diploma of Leadership and Management, equipping you to find employment in a range of sporting bodies, or state and local government  organisations or to work independently in the private or public sector.

*Please note the Diploma of Sport will not be offered as a stand alone qualification, only as part of the dual qualification.

This qualification allows individuals to develop basic functional knowledge and skills for work in customer contact positions in the sport or community recreation industry. These individuals are competent in a range of administrative activities and functions within a team and under supervision. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks using practical skills and basic sport and recreation industry knowledge.

They work in locations such as sport and recreation centres or facilities, and leisure and aquatic centres assisting with the conduct of recreation activities, and facility maintenance and operations.

This Certificate IV in Sport Development will give you the skills to get ahead and take advantage of the varied opportunities in the sporting industry in Australia. You'll cover topics such as; teamwork and leadership; planning and delivering sport and recreation programsusing sport technology; event management; risk management; exercise science; managing volunteers and working with stakeholders. You'll be equipped to fulfil your clients' sporting objectives and work effectively within a sporting organisation.

During the course of your studies you'll have access to the live works gym facility at our Northbridge campus and have the opportunity to gain learning support to improve study, literacy or numeracy skills.

Develop the practical skills and knowledge to care for and enhance the appearance of nails.Learn about how to provide manicures, pedicures and specialised nail enhancement procedures such as gel and acrylic nails. You can also choose to learn how to apply nail art.

Hairdressing

These courses provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to perform a full range of hairdressing services including fundamental and creative haircutting, styling, colouring, perming and straightening on male and female clients.
