Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning mechanics work with the cooling systems that regulate our temperature over our long hot summers. Work can involve maintaining and repairing individual units, all the way to engineering elaborate cooling systems. Mechanics install, service and repair cooling systems, including split systems, and work with Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) systems.

Fabrication

Metal fabricators (boilermakers) and welders build, maintain and repair metal products and structures. Learn the skills and knowledge required to manufacture, assemble and maintain mining structures, heavy transport and earth moving equipment, bridge building, engineering components, building structures, refineries, oil-rigs, storage vessels, shipbuilding and agricultural equipment. Duties may include fitting, assembling and joining aluminium, steel and other metals.

Mechanical

Comprises trade training as machinist metal, mechanical fitter, metal plating and plant mechanic where you’ll learn practical skills to make and repair machines, parts and tools.

Machinists are responsible for the maintenance, repair and manufacture of metal products and machinery. Machinists use a variety of equipment to create new and replacement parts. Study pathways encompass a variety of streams and specialities, including fitting and machining, fluid power and computer numerical control (CNC).
