The Certificate III in General Education for Adults is approximately equivalent to Year 11 for the purposes of applying for a TAFE course and will meet the entry requirements for most Certificate II, III, IV or Diploma level TAFE courses.

Build on your Auslan skills

This course builds on the Certificate II in Auslan and will provide you with the skills to sign in everyday social and personal contexts.

You will also gain an understanding of deaf community principles and practices, preparing you for a possible career working with Auslan signers/users.

Grow your horticulture skills

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to work effectively in the horticulture industry. If you have industry experience this course will enhance your skills. 

Subjects are selected from specialisations including arboriculture, floriculture, landscaping, nursery, parks and gardens, production skills and turf management. Subjects may include plant identification, irrigation, pest and disease control, machinery use, nursery work, hard landscaping, hydroponics, and turf maintenance.

Does a career in the Dental Technology Industry make you smile?

When you complete the Certificate III in Dental Laboratory Assisting you will be ready to start a career in the busy dental technology world, as a laboratory assistant helping dentists and dental technicians to construct, repair and adjust dental appliances.

You will gain the career enhancing knowledge and skills to work as a member of the dental laboratory team. With the skills that you develop in this course you can transfer into the HLT55115 Diploma of Dental Technology as an apprentice in a dental laboratory.

The Certificate III in Dental Laboratory Assisting includes supervised work skills in a simulated dental laboratory at our newly fitted out Dental department at our conveniently located Leederville campus.

An essential support service for the health industry

Did you know that over one quarter of all people admitted to hospital have an operation? Many more have treatments that require sterile equipment to be used. You could assist in ensuring that patients are protected from infection during their care.

Being able to work with others and carry out your work safely is an important part of sterilisation work and is covered in this course.

On completion of your course you will be able to work in a private or public hospital, a clinic or an operating theatre sterile supply department.

As a phlebotomist (pathology collector) you'll interact with a wide variety of people while performing specimen collection, a vital part on their way to a better health status.

You'll provide this assistance by

• providing excellent customer service and communication
• taking venous blood samples with different types of needles
• collecting specimens such as swabs, urine and stool samples
• interacting with patients, couriers, lab staff and doctors
• working within collection centres, hospitals or doing home visits
